Regeneration Works

At B-Alternative, we are committed to making regeneration the norm through practical, community-driven services.
Using our hybrid electric truck, we collect and repurpose valuable waste streams—diverting both organic and inorganic materials from landfill to build a stronger circular economy.

Our Regeneration Works service stream transforms waste into regenerative solutions, supporting soil health, resource recovery, and community resilience. Services include compost collection, CDS (Container Deposit Scheme) recycling, and innovative resource recovery initiatives tailored for councils, businesses, and events.

A standout case study within Regenerative Works is the Shuck Don’t Chuck program, delivered in partnership with The Nature Conservancy. This initiative collects discarded oyster, scallop, and mussel shells from markets, hospitality venues, and large-scale events, repurposing them into marine habitat restoration projects. By working collaboratively with hospitality businesses, seafood wholesalers, markets and councils, Shuck Don’t Chuck creates a closed-loop system that maximizes resource efficiency and supports biodiversity.

B-Alternative  acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which our team members work and live, predominantly lands belonging to the Wadawurrung, Wurundjeri, Woiwurrung, and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation and the Yirrganydji people. We wish to pay our respects now and always to Elders past, present, and future, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
